ep:03 Louisa Deasey is celebrating progress big & small

2020 is one massive in between.

We’ve all experienced it collectively, and yet each of us has our own individual experience.

On the podcast this week, I talk to author and course creator Louisa Deasey, a fellow Melbourne based creative, about how she navigated the 4 month lockdown we are only now coming out of. We were limited in nearly every way; restricted from traveling more than 5kms from home, only allowed to leave our homes for shopping or exercise, and unable to see friends or family in person.

Louisa and I unpack not only the challenges lockdown and the pandemic have brought about, but also the personal and creative growth that springs up from the messy middle.

We discuss the range of emotions experienced during lockdown, and how at the same time, Louisa found a way to allow her creativity to thrive and to celebrate her progress. It’s a window into what life’s been like in our little corner of the world.

In this episode you’ll learn —

  • how Louisa navigated lockdown by investing in her creativity

  • why any steps forward, no matter how big or small, are worth celebrating

  • why it’s okay to give yourself permission to feel in the hard moments

  • how our experiences this year draw parallels to the hero’s journey
